One grain of Sand,
2000:The
concept for this book developed out of a graphic design project based
on a journey. I choose the concept of sand to represent my journey in
transferring colleges during my softmore year. I used a children's story,
based on the travels of a grain of sand and intertwined it with my own
story to create a book that expressed my emotion about this experience.
As the challenge of the experience increased, so did the grain of the
sand paper on the back of each page, as I began to feel more settled, the sand paper grain becomes fine again.
Swatches of sand papers:
Print, sandpaper, wirebinding
matte board, watercolor paper.
